A Tribute to Lamby

Hi everybody,

Serena recently posted on the topic of "promises" which I found to be a fascinating concept that I wish to someday explore a bit further.

Apparently one of the "caveats" of a promise is that "ideally" it should be kept. But this shouldn't discourage any of you from also seeking to learn more on the subject.

Anyhoo, I though I would "test the waters" by keeping a sort-of promise that I made to Lamby. I said that I would post "her video" after getting the previous offering out.

Well let me admit here and now that this was no easy task. Lamby has many rabid, er, AVID followers who would turn on me even more mercilessly than they already do; if I were not "extremely careful" with my choice.

So as a precaution, I ran each and every "proposed video selection" by my company's legal department* (* access to these folks is a perk they arranged for me, for some strange reason, as a condition of employment), before they FINALLY approved this one.

As such, I would like to present Melanie's "Brand New Key" as my (officially approved) choice for the tune that represents the essence of Lamby.

Who among us cannot picture a cute little woolen creature on roller skates screeching down the broken pavement of our imperfect world, seeking to make it a better place? Here she comes! Now where did I misplace that brand new key?

As an added bonus, each day I shall post one of the videos that the legal team rejected.

Litigiously yours,
Pug Puerileuwaite, Esq.

Melanie's adorable, as are shiny new keys. Therefore, it is my considered opinion -- and you might want to have Legal vet it first -- that the song perfectly fits the whole Lamby persona.:)

/t. - Thank you, my friend. This song just seems to perfectly fit Lamby "hand in woolen glove".

But alas, the dark days of me even considering turning Lamby into a "drug mule" are thankfully in the past.

Serena - Yes, and in the interest of full disclosure, I want to point out that you posted this video also (a while back). Great minds think alike, I'm afraid.

Unfortunately I must admit that I'm a little wary of the "vetting" concept, especially since it's intended to "fix" problems before they occur. Maybe that's why Sarah Palin wasn't vetted.

I really enjoyed that song.

So, do you have a brand new key to go with my roller skates?

Lamby - I got a whole drawer full!

For me?

I'm not sure if I understand this post, but when it comes to promises, I do have a complaint. You know I must see Black Bart again-even if it is just one night. Why can't you arrange this? In fact, I think you did imply that you COULD. So....

Lamby rules, my friends!

Lamby - They're for all different kinds. I'm sure at least one will fit yours.

Enemy - I started this new "occasional series" with a video for Foamy. The premise is to - using a little imagination and/or fantasy - select a video that best represents the blogger.

Concerning Black Bart: we must remember that - per a Rush tune - "he's a rebel and a runner". This makes him a difficult hombre to capture ... even for a night. But you never know when he'll show up for a little R&R&R* (* he won't tell me what the 3rd "r" is).

Foam - I suspected as much. Some people enjoy trains, while others seem to favor train wrecks. You and Black Bart seem to have the 2nd category in common. And maybe that's what I find so appealing about you too.

Is the key to my heart in that drawer of yours?

puerileuwaite said...

Lamby - It requires a key? Whoa! That's kinda creepin' me out! Hope it's not one of those pacemaker dealies, 'cuz the Pug likes the use the microwave a lot.

(Maybe ... you never know ...)

darkfoam said...

eh .. what can i say.
i'm a wreck myself.
and..
you like train wrecks too..
admit it!

I prefer the microwave myself.

Foam - Okay, so you caught me. I'll confess. I love a good train wreck. Just don't tell the others. I have an image to uphold.

Lamby - Well then, maybe this could work out. Just don't try to dry me off in one. I'm involved in enough urban legends as it is.

Puggles my sweet, that is the perfect song for Lil Lambie.
I can just see her rollerskating past your house and riding her bicycle which most likely has a pretty carry basket on the front with pretty flowers.
As she passes by she sings La la la la la la la and calls out "wheres my key to your house?" :) ♥

Dianne - I dunno. You have me concerned that Lamby could be a prototypical stalker. I'd better sign up for that special introductory Home Security deal.

(And BTW: THANK YOU SO MUCH, "Leonard Probst, News4, New York", for talking over the end of the clip. Jackass.)
